 By joining CPMaSTT you are standing up for the use of massage and soft tissue therapies by physiotherapists..

These skills are a central pillar of our profession and being part of CPMaSTT will give you a voice to defend their use. It will also support you in developing your skills. 

By becoming a member of CPMaSTT you can enjoy the benefits of being on the inside of this special interest group working alongside the CSP.

You will receive our ‘Hands On’ Journal, a valuable resource for novice and experienced practicioners alike, as well as reduced fees on our training courses and attendance at study days for free. 

As a member of CPMaSTT you can use our experienced and knowledgeable members as a resource to answer your massage and STT queries. If you are a skilled practitioner you can also use your experience to help others improve their skills.

There is plenty of opportunity to take an active part in the group by becoming a committee member, working on the website, contributing to the journal, networking at the study days etc..

Who can join

Full membership is open to chartered physiotherapists. Other categories include associate/assistant, group (for a department), overseas and honorary. Honorary members are elected by the CPMaSTT committee. CPMaSTT has three sub-groups:

  1. sports massage
  2. aromatherapy
  3. fascial therapy.

Benefits for members include a modest discount on some publications, peer support, information on courses and recognition by other manual therapy groups. You will receive our ‘Hands On’ Journal, a valuable resource for novice and experienced practicioners alike, as well as reduced fees on our training courses and attendance at study days for free. 

Expectations of members 

Participation in study days is expected and involvement in research and guideline development encouraged. CPMaSTT also aims to reach consensus in the teaching of massage in the qualifying curriculum.
